What ever happened to good service?

It seems I’ve been asking myself a lot these days where good customer service has gone. I mean, when I go into a restaurant and the food is incredible but the service is lackluster, I consider the experience to be a bad one, overall. When I go to one of my favorite men’s stores, if I don’t get courteous and knowledgeable help when I intend to spend hundreds, you can be assured that I’m already thinking about where I may go to shop instead. Good service says that you care about my experience with your brand. It says that you want me as a repeat customer. And it says that you’re serious about building your brand into one that is reliable, knowledgeable and solid. Good service—and training your staff to provide it to your customers—is a small investment when you consider the return.
